Client: The Benjamin Seaport Residences
Architect: In house designed by Draper team
General Contractor: Berkshire Residential Investments
Location: 50 Northern Avenue Boston, MA

About the Project:
Located in Boston’s new waterfront, the Seaport District, The Benjamin Seaport Residences tower over three levels of the most exclusive retail area in Boston. The retail at The Benjamin Seaport Residences and VIA is an energetic, 250,000 square foot shopping, dining, and entertainment Mecca.

Scope of Project:
The existing elevator interiors at the Benjamin Residences had become extremely damaged after just a few years of service. Draper was called in to design a new concept with more durable materials. The challenge was the elevator’s hoisting equipment had very limited weight tolerances. By utilizing Chilewich fabrics, decorative metals both textured and reflective, as well as a custom engraved accent panel on the rear walls we were able to install six (6) custom elevator interiors that match the lobby aesthetic and that will hold up well to everyday traffic of the riding public. The careful and selection of materials and details helped to create interiors suited for a class “A” space, notably vaulted style handrail standoffs and T22 Black Onyx mirror that gives the appearance of glass mirror without the weight and with better durability.
