🏢 About the Project:
Parcel G is a 510,000 square foot 14 story building in the new Cambridge crossing development. It features 15’ floor to floor heights, virtually column free spaces, and premium high way visibility for branding opportunities.

📐 Scope of Project:
After completing fit outs with Thyssen and Kone Draper partnered with another major elevator company Otis installing nine (9) elevator cab interiors at Parcel G. The six (6) passenger elevators feature a matching rear wall to the surround lobby wall panels in the elevator vestibule. When the center opening doors separate there is a seamless transition with the cab interior panels.

After completing the modernization of the four pub

After completing the modernization of the four public elevators at the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, Draper was invited back to develop design concepts for the judges’ elevators.

Following a behind-the-scenes tour of the courtrooms and learning the history behind many of the building’s architectural details, we created and presented three cab concepts inspired by the courthouse’s heritage and design language.

These elevators will transport federal judges before and after presiding over some of the nation’s most significant cases—so the design and craftsmanship needed to reflect that responsibility.

Yesterday we had a site visit to Masterpiece Woodworks who we partnered with on an upcoming Federal Courthouse project to review these one of a kind custom milled wall panels. The elevators were thoughtfully designed to tell stories while upholding building standards. (swipe to see photos) Every detail serves a purpose and those details are heavily reviewed by many eyes prior to installation. In these cases site visits are a great exercise for reviewing progress. At the highest standards, craftsmanship matters most.

About the Project:
Located in the heart of Boston’s Financial District, 28 State Street is a 40-story Class A office tower. In 2022, Consigli Construction completed a major lobby repositioning, transforming the building’s entry to reflect a sleek, modern aesthetic. As the renovation neared completion, Cushman & Wakefield engaged Draper Elevator Interiors to design and build custom elevator interiors that would align with the upgraded lobby. Jared Giblin presented two design concepts to ownership, and once a concept was selected, Draper’s design was incorporated into the modernization specification written by Michael Blades & Associates. Otis Elevator is currently modernizing all 17 elevators, including the installation of destination dispatch technology.

Scope of Project:
Draper provided full design-build services, fabricating and installing 17 custom elevator cab interiors. The standout feature is a large rear wall mirror with a gold striped interlayer, complemented by custom LED lighting that delivers a dramatic effect. The ceiling and side walls incorporate finishes found throughout the building’s newly renovated lobby and common areas. Each time the cab doors open, the result is an immediate “wow factor”—a bold blend of lighting and premium materials. “This past Saturday, my brothers and I pulled off a surprise retirement party for our parents — a well-deserved celebration of their incredible journey. As of 1/1/25, they officially passed the torch, selling the business to my brother Rich and me.
My dad was one of nine, my mom one of five. They came from humble beginnings and built something truly special — something I’m honored to carry forward. Their legacy is defined by hard work, consistency, and a remarkable partnership I’ve been lucky to witness throughout my life.
They treated employees like family and always put customers first. That commitment built a foundation of trust that allowed the company to grow and thrive. Today, those values remain at the core of our mission: to lead the industry in trust, craftsmanship, and reliability.”
